Well, I think everyone would agree that Footvolley is great fun....and REALLY -- REALLY! -- HARD!

So, okay, we occasionally reverted to that oh-so Canadian game called Anything Goes, including hands, and then occasionally played volleyball proper, then just soccer under the net, then played with some loose and fascinated dogs and then went back to footvolley, with a teeny amount of Sepak Takraw thrown in....there was happy diving into the sand and some pretty decent return shots and serves at times(footvolley AND volleyball styles) and we just basically got a lot of exercise and had a lot of fun.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day at the beach, evidenced by all the people and dogs that were out and the two policeman on horses who were actually frolicking (nothing says "springtime" better than frolicking!) and racing each other back and forth down the beach near the water. It was mentioned that it was just like California - but with snow on the ground....: ) It warmed up nicely and we played for 2+ hours and then got our lunches and brought them back to the bleachers of the baseball diamond at Kew beach. It was a good group and we learned a lot of new and interesting things from one another. For instance, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre came out in Italy as Non Aprite Quella Porta, which translates to Don't Open The Door...neat! They do anyway, of course, though -- bummer..

On the walk back down the boardwalk, there were two teams of volleyball players, so it won't be long before those courts are in constant use. This will be tried again, it's really good all-over exercise. Thanks group - you were fun!
