This water is really dry....

We had a great trip and got to relax at a beautiful campsite....but let's start at the beginning....

Coco and Hassan, being the wonderful people they are, headed up to Killarney early on Friday, providing weather updates along the way and getting to relax at the park. Steph, Tricia, Matt, Jenn and Rocky headed up after work and in a desperate bid for gas (the red light had kicked in!) ended up in the town of Rosseau, where a gas station was reopened for us and we sampled the 'pleasures' of a local pub before heading on our way.

We headed off down the trail the next morning, exploring a few ridges and looking in vain for old plane wreckage (which we found out after had been removed) before arriving at our campsite, which was a large site on Cave Lake with a wonderful view.

We all went for a swim - the water was COLD! - and then Tricia, Steph and Jenn swam across the bay - Jenn was unable to climb the cliffs but Tricia found a large log (tree?) and the three swam it back to the campsite to the amusement of the rest of the group.

Coco, Hassan, Jenn and Matt hiked up the trail to Baie Fine, where the Group of Seven painted, and took in the view, meeting a few snapping turtles along the way. Hassan took advantage of Matt's expertise to plot how to turn a jet engine into a float plane, and we headed back to the site in time for dinner and for Matt and Tricia to exercise their skills with a machete.

We had a leisurely Sunday morning, swimming again - the water was REALLY COLD - before heading back down the trail to the cars and an early dinner in Parry Sound.

Thanks to everyone for coming, it was a fun trip with a great group!
