When Dan contacted the Moyers family for cherry picking, we assumed that it is a small farm with maybe a dozen cherry trees and a shaded area under the trees for a picnic. Their family orchards have been in business since 1799. Well, the sheer size of the parking lots (three of them), each as big as the ones for Canadian Tire and Loblaws, and the hordes of people carrying custom made baskets, took us by surprise.

The two groups departed from different carpool places, got delayed a bit by the traffic on QEW, but reached the cherry farm almost at the same time. One member, Dima, signed up as "meeting at the event" and sure enough, he arrived with his motorbike ahead of the two groups.

The picnic area was so crowded, we had to use our cell phones to find the other group. After the picnic, each of us got a basket, hopped on the tractor, enjoyed a short ride in the orchards, and got off to be amazed by lines and lines of cherry trees. We got to work right away...some of us eating as many cherries as we put in the basket.
