This was a one way hike, so we had to shuttle cars around for the first hour. Fifteen of us started off from Hopkins Corners at around 11 am. It was a fairly warm spring day and many of us were over dressed. 2 Km in Ash was not feeling good so we agreed that he would return to the trail head parking lot. We climbed the escarpment and traverse under the newly constructed highway#6 tunnel. The trail travelled up and down the escarpment. I think the high point of the trip was the Grindstone Creek and falls at Smokey Hollow. The last 11 Km of the trail was easlier than the first 11 km. The trail followed the top of the escarpment for the most part. We had some excitment when we got to Cedar Springs Road were a grass fire was burning. The fire department was just arriving as we crossed the road. A few more K's later and we made it to the Guelph line. Back to get the trail head cars. Where's Ash? Phone ON. TEXT MESSAGE he's hiking. Where? Close to Cedar Springs Road. Back to pick up the group and Ash. All 15 people accounted for! Anybody interested in beer? Carrigan Arms is our stop. Live music and cold beer, boy what a good end to the day!
