Write Up:
Nobody, well except Dave, knew quite to expect at this event. However, many of us got some Western/country outfits assembled and proceeded out into the snowy night. At the Wheat Sheaf we got our first looks at colourful bandannas, hats, and even toy six-shooters.

Then came time for my big costume surprise. No, contrary to speculation, my big garbage bag did not contain butt-less chaps. Instead, it held my lucky horse with no name. Once I slipped him on we were ready to go.

The Legion Hall awaited us tastefully decorated with music already pumping and the dance floor ready to be filled. The drinks were all dirt cheap and soon we were all out have a toe tapping, foot stomping wild night. Dima showed us that Russian dancing can easily be modified to work with country music. Pavel was a whirling dervish on the floor too with smooth moves. Faye really stepped it up a notch showing us how to do proper boot scooting boogies and more. Another rare surprise was the troop of Asian line dancing cowboys that put on quite the show for us all.

In the end we agreed that the event was an absolute blast. Stay tuned as TOC will be sure to revisit Saddle Up the next time it rides into town.
