distance-24.5 km duration-5:29:00 Personally i've never seen an apple orchard so busy that it caused a traffic jam, and maybe it's just me too but I have trouble recalling when which fruit or whatever is in season. That being said we must have hit the peak of apple season in Milton because we were delayed about 20 mins by a lineup for Chudleighs apple orchard. Luckily for us and some ambitious, fresh obsessed hikers we had our own supply of "organic" pears to start off the hike. We took full advantage of this idle pear tree (in the parking lot) both before and after the trek. We did a pseudo loop from the parking lot near the corner of hwy 25 and 15 SR past scotch block, stopping for lunch with a neat array of chair-like rocks and a view of the local golf course. From there we made our way up the hilton falls side trail (very lengthy side trail at 19.7 km in total). Using part of the side trail enabled us to do a loop and avoid retracing our steps as well as pass the falls and plenty of leisurely tourists. As a nice, peaceful source of motivation lagging hikers always seemed to have the assistance of Dima's fine flute-playing skills. Thanks for that my friend! All in all it was a great day weather wise and everyone enjoyed the scenery on the brink of it's fall transition. Thanks and hope to see you again soon.
