What a great day of biking! There was no car pool, but we had no problem finding each other in the Hardwood Hills cafeteria. Carrie and Coco had to rent some equipment, camelbacks had to be filled, protein bars eaten and introductions made, but at about 1PM we set out for the trails. Coco's rental bike was the best out of all our bikes! This is a great operation out at Hardwood! For starters, Steph, Coco and Carrie did the Sprockets trail. They say this trail is for kids, but it's really fun. After getting warmed up on this trail, the group did the FUN trail. This is a beginner trail that has a good mix of wide-track and single-track trails through the gorgeous and quiet woods. Alan tackled the GNARLY trail, which is the second toughest trail. He put in his "best ride ever". After doing some mountain biking in British Columbia, his biking confidence has skyrocketed and he barrelled right at all the toughest parts of the trail. After meeting back up at the cafeteria, relaxing and having some more to eat and drink and some great conversation, the group went out all together to do the FUN trail one more time. The day was a great success, with everyone LOVING Hardwood Hills! There will be plenty more opportunity to make it up there with TOC this summer, so make sure you do. No matter if you are a pure beginner or a pro, Hardwood Hills is total outdoor fun.
