First of all I have to say, what perfect weather for an evening hike. We couldn't have asked for anything more! We set out from Broadview Station and headed north to Todmorden Mills where I learned has been the site of a previous saw mill, grist mill, paper mill, brewery and distillery. We then headed south along the Don River. Unfortunately we walked right by Chester Springs Marsh and missed it. However we made up for it when we decided to head west through Riverdale Farm and Necropolis Cemetery which is the final resting place for many famous Canadians including William Lyon Mackenzie, George Brown, and John Ross Robertson. Our last leg was a nice climb up Rosedale Valley Road where we thought we were headed for Castle Frank Station however ended up at Yonge and Bloor. This is where a wrong turned into a right as we ended up at a great pub, Spirits. Here we all toasted to a great hike with our beer of choice and satisfied our hunger with some food. And then to top off the evening there was some stand up comedians performing. They were really great and had us all laughing. One of the performers took a special interest in Barbara and Johnathon which maybe embarrassed them just a little bit but they were great sports. A couple of special shout outs to Adrienne, Zanita and Hugh. Thank you Adrienne for helping me navigate the route since I wasn't all that familiar with it... who knows where we would have ended up if you weren't there?? Congratulations to Zanita on her first event with the TOC, I hope we didn't scare you away!! And thank you to Hugh for the great recommendation of Spirits! Thank you all who came out, we had an awesome group and a great evening. I hope we will run into each other again in future events. Shannon
