The weather wasn't perfect, but it never rained on us. Considering it was many of our first rides of the season, it could been a lot worse. Everyone was dressed warmly for our bike up the Don Valley. We started off at Balzac's in the Distillery District and after some introductions, we were off! We started our ride up the Don Valley bike trail right from Cherry St. and Lakeshore Blvd. The path was pretty quiet compared to what it will be like on Saturday afternoons later this Spring. The colours were interesting, as you can see from the great photos taken by Sue. Mitch and Sue came on their first TOC event. They are super-friendly people who are very outdoorsy and I think will be a super addition to the Toronto Outdoor Club. They've been cycling everywhere there is to cycle in the GTA! We're going to get lots of great ideas for bike rides from them! Edicson is from Venezuela and is enthusiastic to discover more of the biking Toronto has to offer. We're hoping he'll join us on some mountain biking events that will be coming up soon. David had an excellent first ride of the season, as he's switching gears (literally) from cross-country skiing last weekend to biking this weekend. Ahhh yes, Spring is finally here!! We rode past Pottery Road all the way to Don Mills and back again. Lots of great conversation and fun biking along the Don River, which was moving prettty quick with continued spring runoff. A great first bike trip of the season. It really whetted our appetite for more biking-related activities all summer long! It's going to be a great year for TOC bikers.
