Write Up:

No one was sure about the weather before we headed out this morning and although we had a few unexpected obstacles...ok! I forgot to register and had to leave it up to Alan to meet and greet everyone! we did manage to find everyone and even get out. More delays, courtesy of me - should have brought my bike in for a tune up before I headed out, but for the first few kms I was thinking wow, I'm really out of shape as even the guys with the fold up bicycles were passing me. Luckily Alan had his technical bike knowledge and tools handy and adjusted my brakes so that I could actually ride. Then Linda and I were chatting along when she was the unlucky recipient of a collision - ouch! Our first TOC injury!

Eventually we made it to the halfway point where Linda decided she'd feel better turning back and I volunteered to accompany her while Sal, Hannah and Alan went on for the 50K. Ok, it wasn't that hard for me to say I'll turn back - hey I like the outdoors but never said this was the club for outdoor and *fit* people!

After we returned and ice applied to Linda's sore leg we waited for the rest of the group and checked out the free lunch when we finally heard from the rest of the group - already at the pub! We headed over in time for a pint and a strongbow at the Foggy Dew, now officially in the running for the title of the official TOC clubhouse. Lots of fun was had and ideas exchanged. I think everyone headed home for a well deserved nap. And perhaps a padded seat for our sore bums!
