EVENT DETAILS

So, I've been made redundant on my ultimate frisbee team, so I might as well do a hike instead.
The reason that this hike is "reversed" is because I've led this route 14 times in my TOC career, but never in this direction. So, should be fun.

Tonight's 12 KM route will be a loop both starting and finishing at Leslie Subway Station.
Some interesting spots include

  • 'The Neighbourhood of Don Valley Village'.
  • 'The Neighbourhood of Hillcrest Village'.
  • 'The East Don Parkland'.
  • This hike will be on a combination of sidewalks, paved paths and some grassy/dirt trails, which could be either icy or muddy this time of the year.

In terms of hills, probably about 2 climbs of at least 25 meters.

    We'll aim for a pace of 4.5-5.5 km/h.

Sadly, there won't be any washrooms on available on this hike.

I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.
You can find the pair I use, 'here from Amazon'.

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

We'll be meeting at the South-West corner of Sheppard Leslie, which is just outside Leslie Subway Station. Leslie station is located on the Sheppard Subway Line.

If arriving on the Subway Subway line, please exit the station following the signs marked "TO LESLIE STREET."

If you follow the the platform to the far east side, there is a corridor that will take you to the meeting point.
If you don't know where the far east side of the platform is, follow the direction of the eastbound train.

If you go out an exit with a ticket booth or if there is a bus loop, you've gone the wrong way.

In terms of parking, there is a TTC commuter lot located on Old Leslie Road, south of Sheppard.
