Itinerary:

X-C skiing is an incredible workout - or so I have been told. I have only tried nordic skiing once or twice many years ago and when the following year I was offered a chance to go downhill - that's what I preferred. But high prices, long lift lines and a broken wrist later, I think I'd like to revisit the challenge of an long trail full body workout. Forget the low impact machines at the gym - this is the real thing!

Hardwood Hills is a top nordic skiing facility and offers 30Km of groomed trails. I have used their mountain bike trails and I can attest to the great care and maintenance of their trails. They also provide excellent and up to date equipment for rentals. They have an excellent beginners package - for 39.99 it will include a full day pass, rental of skis, boots and poles and a one hour introductory lesson in classic style x-c skiing. If you want to try the new skate ski technique, it's an additional $10. There is a catch though - the lesson is not until 2pm in the afternoon. But, If we can get a group of at least 5 (and nomore than 8, or we'll split into two groups) we can get a lesson at our own time for a cost of $85, or $17 each (less with more people). That would not include trail pass or rentals, but we can work out those costs later.

Of course, this is not just for beginners, everyone is welcome to join us and lessons are not mandatory!

If you are planning to take a lesson please let me know in the notes. I will go ahead and arrange a prepaid lesson - however you will be obliged to pay first before the lesson can be booked
