You can also meet us directly at Hamilton GO station - I'll move you to the attendee list. The Bruce trail near downtown Hamilton is beautiful, but it is often ignored by GTA hikers because of its urban-ish nature. Nevertheless, it's great for a relaxed photo hike, especially around this time of the year, when the fallen leaves make the trail look prettier. You're also welcome if you don't have a camera, but want to participate in a relatively slow hike. We'll start hiking somewhere near Hamilton downtown, and go all the way to Iroquoia Heights.

During the hike, we'll climb three of Hamilton's famed escarpment staircases:

  • James Street Stairs (227 steps)
  • Dundurn Stairs (326 steps) – optional
  • Chedoke Stairs (289 steps) – optional

As we proceed on the Chedoke Radial trail, we'll also explore some of the small, pretty waterfalls of Hamilton: Chedoke, Westcliffe, Cliffview, Mountview, Princess and Scenic (hopefully not running dry). The more adventurous can brave the rocky path to get a close-up of the falls; the others can enjoy the view from a distance.
