Itinerary:
Sign up and join me for a week of hiking and activities in Haliburton at, hopefully, the peak of the fall colours.

This is ideal for those that want to do day hikes but want luxuries that a campsite doesn’t offer. Our base is the Two Hours to Heaven cottage on Little Kennisis Lake. The photos look amazing. (This isn’t my idea of a cottage because it has internet, hot tub, water slide, big TV, DVD player, washing machine, etc..)

I expect lots of photo opportunities. Day trip options include hiking, canoeing, the Walk in the Clouds ($95), the wolf centre. If we have a group of 8, we can have a session at the Dark Sky Preserve ($20 each). If there is torrential rain, we can check out the local winery which is the only one that makes maple wine. There are also some museums and art galleries if we want to go into town.

In the evening, I’m picturing communal meals/barbeques with perhaps a different type of cuisine nightly, board games, movies, some quiet time for reading, etc.. In the morning I plan to meditate and do yoga or go for a run.

The cottage holds 8, with queen beds in 3 rooms and bunks in a fourth, so sharing of beds may be required. The cost of the cottage portion will depend upon how many we are and whether you share a room but not more than $210 as the rooms work out to $30 per night.

If there are not enough people to spend the whole week, weekenders will definitely be considered. Note that my son will be there for the weekend.

A trip meeting will be held Tuesday at 6:15 at Loblaws above St. Clair West at the tables on the grocery shopping floor.

I have to be in the city late but I'm hoping part of the group can go up earlier and enjoy the evening at the cottage. we will work this out at the pre-meeting.

Costs will depend on amount of car use, food options, and number of participants.
