Newcastle to Port Hope + Back (Appr 55 kms) (7/5/2014)

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Once you've reviewed the event details, and decided you'd like to join us, you MUST sign up at the bottom of this page.You will then make your payment for this event at the venue, NOT in advance to the TOC.

Itinerary:
This 55km ride features beautiful views of Lake Ontario. There are four or five medium sized hills on the route, but apart from them it is quite flat. Most of the route will be on low traffic roads, but there will be somewhat more traffic when we ride through Port Hope.

Please do not sign up if you are not safe riding in traffic.

Once we are in Port Hope, we will eat our lunch in a park on the shores of Lake Ontario. There is also a small cafe nearby to buy lunch. We will then return on the same route back toward Newcastle. Once back in our cars, we can drive to the nearby restaurant at the Newcastle Marina at its patio for after ride refreshments. (Weather Permitting)

If you are driving please tell me how many people and bikes you can take INCLUDING you and your bike?

Also if you have not ridden with me before, you MUST answer in the affirmative the following questions (for you own ease simply copy and paste the questions into the Notes section and type in your answers when you sign up):
1. Do you agree to wear a bicycle helmet?
2. Are you experienced, comfortable, and safe riding in traffic i.e. with automobiles?
3. Are you able to bring a spare tube for your bicycle?
4. Does your bicycle fit properly?
5. Is your bicycle in decent shape ie no rusty chain etc, working brakes?

Required Items to Bring:
Bicycle helmet, lunch, water, spare tube, sun block, sun hat, snacks, bicycle lock, clothing appropriate to the weather and $30 for your part of the carpool and possibly after ride refreshments.
