Itinerary:

Join me in exploring the Toronto Islands on a beautiful, cold, snowy Sunday morning.

We'll be taking the 10:30am ferry to Ward's Island. Once there we will walk/snowshoe/ski from Ward's Island to Hanlan's Point and back again. The terrain is fairly easy. Given the amount of freshly fallen snow, we can hike, snowshoe or cross country ski. I will bring my snowshoes.

  • There are no rentals for snowshoes or skis at Toronto Islands so, for those who need to, please rent them in Toronto. MEC or Europe Bound has equipment for rent.
  • Note: For those intending to hike, you should have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC.

We will make hot ginger tea or soup when we stop for lunch. I will bring my new pocket rocket stove and tea bags. Do bring your mugs.
