Itinerary:

SLOWPOKE HIKE: We will hike at an average pace of about 3.5-4.0 km/h and take in the natural beauty, with water and photo breaks. However, it's still 15 km so please do not sign up if you cannot hike the entire distance: there will be no drop-offs, for safety reasons. And note we'll meet at the car pool earlier than usual, at 8 a.m.

Spectacular views from the limestone cliffs of Rattlesnake Point, turkey vultures soaring above Nassagaweya Canyon, the startling blue waters of Crawford Lake (a "meromictic" lake, i.e., an unusual kind whose layers don't mix) and the recreation of a 15th century Iroquoian village -- what better way to celebrate Thanksgiving!

It's a moderate hike that involves some hills, some steep and rocky descents and likely some muddy areas.

Fees: The park’s entrance fee is $6.50 per adult. It's about 60 km southwest of Toronto, near Milton.

DRIVERS: If you're available to help drive, please mark in the notes field how many passengers can you take.

NO SHOWS: Please respect others on the waiting list and if you can't attend, remove yourself as early as possible before the cutoff deadline. Anyone dropping out within 24 hours of the start of the event will receive an AUTOMATIC NO SHOW - no exceptions -- as that's not enough warning time for someone else from the waiting list to join us. Thanks!
