Thanksgiving in Dundas Valley (15 KM) (10/14/2013)

NOTE: THE CARPOOL DEPARTURE TIME FROM KIPLING STATION IS 9:00 AM

Dundas Valley is one of the nicest places on the Niagara Escarpment.

This is an intermediate hike that involves some hills, uneven terrain and probably some muddy areas.

On the trail we'll be following part of the Bruce Trail, amongst several other trails throughout the valley for an 15 KM loop.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water. We will find a place to stop for lunch @ the halfway point, but there will not be any drop offs.

Total Distance approx 15 km

DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE WRITE IN THE NOTES SECTION, THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!, or else you might be moved to the wait list until this is completed.

If you cannot walk the entire distance, please do not sign up for this hike.

  • water (1-2 L)
  • LUNCH/snacks
  • Good hiking shoes/boots
  • Weather appropriate clothing

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

  • Event Directions: Leaving Kipling - Exit the TTC Parking Lot and travel out to Dundas Avenue.
  • Go left at Dundas (west) for about 2 km
  • Take the 427 Southbound to the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way).
  • Exit at the QEW and follow it WEST for 17 km.
  • The highway merges with the 403 and follow the signs for the 403 through Hamilton for 38 km.
  • Take exit 64 toward Rousseaux Street (NOTE: Rousseaux turns into Mohawk Rd, so don't get confused)
  • At the first traffic light, take a right onto Filman Road.
  • Follow Filman Road all the way to the end and look for a parking space.

    Notes:
    • If we are short of drivers, they will get priority on the waiting list.
    • This hike will go ahead rain or shine. If it's raining, please wear appropriate rain gear
    • If you choose to meet at the event, please arrive on time, I will not be waiting for late comers..
    • Despite it being a holiday, subway service is open at 6 AM on the Monday
