Itinerary:

FOODIE HIKE TO THE BRICKWORKS GARLIC FESTIVAL

Oooooo a garlic festival! Yum! We'll meet at Davisville station and follow the Beltline down to the Brickworks.
After roaming around the garlic festival for several hours we'll walk out to Castlefrank TTC station.

=> HOW TO SIGN UP:
(Please only sign up if you want to come for sure!)
1. Click here to buy your $5 advance ticket to the Festival
2. Email me to confirm you have a ticket
3. If you do not have a ticket at the start of the hike you will get a No Show. This is because it's a big place with lots going on. Once the group gets to the Brickworks we are going in and enjoying the festival, not spending time texting people who are waiting in line to buy tickets. So make sure to sort out your ticket in advance if you want to come!
4. I don't like seeing a lot of last minute drop outs on hikes. If you are not coming then please have the courtesy to remove yourself from the event as far in advance as possible.
5. WE ARE GOING AHEAD RAIN OR SHINE! If there is extreme rainfall the event may be cancelled as the Brickworks is prone to flooding. So check your email if you are concerned :)

Your $5 gets you into a whole lotta activities and events, including :

*Cooking demos by Chef Anne Sorrenti (Morgans on The Danforth) and Chef Brad Long (Belong Cafe)
Presentations such as Garlic as an Aphrodisiac, How to Grow Great Garlic, History of Garlic and, Is Garlic Good for your Pet?
*Info on beer and garlic dish pairings.
*Toronto Master Gardeners will have a member on hand throughout the day to answer gardening questions including how to grow garlic.

There will also be loads of awesome yummy things for sale, including:
*Rare and heirloom Ontario garlic
*Gourmet products such as pickled garlic scrapes, garlic scape mustard, garlic scape wine vinegar, garlic jellies, pickled garlic....
*Garlic fries, garlic popcorn, garlic bread, and garlic ribs(veggie, raw, gluten-free options available)
*Sweet, delicious creations from local chocolatiers and pastry chefs, including salted caramel roast garlic truffles, garlic ice cream, garlic fudge and garlic brittle...

Over 20 local chefs and street vendors will slice, dice, crush, sauté and BBQ delish garlic specialties to buy such as...
*Indonesian street food, such as braised pork belly on a fried Chinese bun, corn and shrimp fritters with garlic chili sauce, and marinated pork satays
*Kushikatsu (Japanese deep-fried kebabs)
*Hawaiian Garlic Chicken Skewers, Pork Skewers and Kalua Pork on a Bun
*Mac & Cheese Lobster Diablo
*Craft beer, Ontario wine, and home-made soda and kombucha also for sale

There will even be a garlic breath contest courtesy of the Science Centre!

This will be a fun hike, we'll be starting at 10am so we should be at the Brickworks at the latest by 11:30 am. Depending on how much food we want to try out, we will finish up and walk out to Castlefrank station between 2 and 3pm.

Note... I will happily hike in the rain, especially if there's good food at the end. If that's not for you, please check the forecast the morning before + remove yourself before the cut off!
