Itinerary:

BELTLINE TO GELATO HIKE...

MMMM Toronto has some delicious gelato. This is a new place I haven't tried, so we'll see how it goes. Its flagship flavours include mojito and also spicy Mayan chocolate... We'll meet at the turnstiles of Broadview station + head south to pick up the Don Valley Trail. We'll wind around the Brickworks to get onto the Beltline trail and follow it north up through Mount Pleasant cemetery. After a detour for gelato we'll end at Eglinton West Station. (For those wondering about ice cream, gelato and sorbet... Ice cream is traditionally made with cream, gelato with milk and sorbet with water. )

Total distance covered 12 KM.
We're starting at 6:30 pm as Mount Pleasant cemetery closes at 8pm. We'll be walking at a decent pace of 5.0 km per hour so be prepared to stick with the group. (No racing ahead or dawdling as I won't be chasing after anyone who gets lost). Dogs are welcome but they must be on a leash in the cemetery or you may have to detour around.

No Shows: If you can't make it please play fair and remove yourself from the event ASAP so the waiting list moves. Anyone cancelling after the cut off time will receive a No Show.

RAIN: I'm pretty happy hiking in rain; if that's not for you, remember to check the forecast the day before and if necessary remove yourself in time to avoid a No Show. If there is thunder we will still go ahead (I REALLY love gelato!) but will stay on paved paths, avoid ravines, and possibly take a shorter route.
