Itinerary:

If you own a mountain bike, you need to go to Hardwood Hills, or you might as well trade in your bike for a road bike!

Hardwood has well marked groomed trails, with man-made and natural obstacles. Beginners will find the Fun and Serious trails challenging, while intermediate and advanced riders have plenty of challenging choices. I am fit enough to ride 30-50Km on the road, but a 10.5 intermediate trail was about my limit. I loved it - it was beautiful, quiet, and not at all expensive.

The fun trail which is the easiest (next to the kid's trail) is a mixture of single track and wide track biking - the hills are not too steep and easy to navigate. Beginners should feel comfortable, and there is no shame in walking your bike up hills and around scary obstacles. At least I do!

if we have a group of 6 or more, the pass will cost $10 instead of the usual $12. The area is well marked out and there is no need to stick together - you can work at your way at your own pace.

there is a bike shop and snacks and drinks on the premises, including power bars and a faucet for extra refills on water.

If you are bringing your car, please let me know if you can carry an extra bike or two so that people without vehicles can still get there.
You must have a MOUNTAIN bike for this event. You will NOT be allowed to bike without a proper bike helmet. You can RENT bikes and helmets at Hardwood Hills for a fee. Availability is not guaranteed.
