Niagara Cycle Route ride

Length: 117 km

Come ride paved trails and bike-friendly roads of the Greater Niagara Cycle Route from St.Catharines to Niagara Falls.

This ride is for experienced riders, you must be comfortable riding long distance at average speed 22+ km/hr. The ride may be postponed due to extreme weather conditions, please watch for further announcements before the cut-off date.

We will meet at the GO ticket booths at the Union Station and take seasonal Niagara Falls GO train at 9:00 to St.Catharines stn (arriving at 10:38). There is no carpool for this event but you can join the group at a different station or St.Catharines VIA station, please provide more details in notes.

You will need to buy your ticket from ticket agent before boarding the train. 2 bikes are allowed in every carriage except the accessibility carriage. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR BIKES IN DESIGNATED BIKE CARRIAGES AS WE ARE DISEMBARKING AT ST.CATHARINES STATION! Those arriving by car please allow enough time to put together and check your bike(s) so it is ready by the group departure time (10:50).

We will start the ride by going to the lake shore and taking Welland Canals trail all the way down to Port Colborne where we may stop to watch huge ships going through locks. Those arriving by car can take alternate canal trail (unpaved) back to St.Catharines station. Then we will proceed to Niagara Blvd at Fort Erie via Friendship trail and go up Niagara trail all the way to the Falls. After taking in the view, we will do some more riding or have dinner before heading to Niagara Falls VIA station to catch the return train home (departing at 19:20). Please bring enough water and lunch/snacks and be prepared to ride in sunny and windy conditions.
