Itinerary:

Rouge Park is the largest nature park within a metropolitan area in North America. It stretches from Lake Ontario in the south and to the post-glacial Oak Ridges Moraine in York Region to the north. It is slated to be a Canada's first National Park within a municipality.
The plan is to do a leisurely hike of approximately 10km, looping from the Glen Rouge Campground, up the Vista, Mast and Riverside trails through oak, pine and black maple forests. There are lookout points, steep climbs and descents on this trail.
On returning from the hike, we will stop at a Tipi at Glen Rouge Campground to have our lunch/snacks, make a fire and a pot of spice tea for everyone around the campfire. Please get a mug for the tea. This part is optional.

Please note that this is a winter hike and all participants must be dressed appropriately in warm layers and with hats and gloves. All participants must have hiking boots. If you come on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC or Lee Valley Tools.

This is Stefan`s first event as a volunteer coordinator. Please direct all queries to him !
