Itinerary:

Last month's PhotoHike was a big success, so let's do another one! Given that its a PhotoHike, you must bring a camera on this hike.

We'll leave from Yonge-Dundas Square at 2:00 PM sharp. The route will take us down Yonge Street to Queen, then we'll turn east and head along Queen to Church. We'll head down Church to the always interesting Toronto Sculpture Garden and then over to the St. Lawrence Market where there is a large Sunday Antique Market. Then we'll stop along Front Street at a coffee shop to warm up and show off our pictures to date.

After we're warm (probably about 15-20 minutes), we'll head back out along Front Street to Bay Street. We'll head up Bay Street all the way back to Queen, looking up all the time for some interesting skyscraper shots. We'll head over to York Street, and come all the way back down to finish the hike at Union Station. At Union, those interested can socialize over a warm drink and brag about who got the best picture.

We'll be walking during the 'golden hours', the 2-3 hours leading up to sunset which give a photographer some of the best light possible to work with. Click here for a general map view of the route - we will deviate slightly from this as photographic opportunities arise.

This is going to be a SLOW hike with LOTS OF STOPS. The purpose of this hike is to see the city through a photographic lens, and that may mean stopping frequently along the route. Do not come on this hike if you are looking for a workout. The total distance of this hike is approximately 4 km, and I plan to take at least 3 if not 4 hours to cover the route. The hike will go forward in all but extreme weather (i.e. a thundershower, blizzard, etc.). The hike will take place entirely on paved surfaces.

Because this hike is REALLY SLOW, it might get REALLY COLD, depending on what this year's freakish weather decides to give us. So dress appropriately! You will not be able to count on body warmth being generated by activity on this hike.

The hike is open to anyone with a camera, of all skill levels. It doesn't matter if your camera is a basic point and shoot or an expensive DSLR, you are welcome on this hike. But you must bring a camera! Along the hike, I will encourage everyone to share their ideas/thoughts/skills with everyone else on what they are seeing and shooting. Everyone's photographic eye is different and everyone can learn from everyone else.

Because of the popularity of these events, I will award a no-show to anyone who does not remove themselves from the event prior to the Registration Cut-Off. No Exceptions!
