Seaton Trail (18km to 27km) (11/5/2011)

Itinerary:
The Seaton Hiking Trail is located along the West Duffins Creek in Pickering, Ontario. You will get a good workout and experience some spectacular views. There is wonderful scenery but the trail can be very muddy if raining. We'll start at the beginning at Consession RD 3 then head north. The full trail end to end is 27Km...at a minimum I want to hike 18km but am willing to extend based on the average pace and overall willinging of those that are on the hike. I would like to get a decent workout, and will be looking to keep the pace between 4km and 5km per hour.

This hike is open to dogs but I cannot guarantee them a spot in the carpool if you don't have a car yourself.

If you plan on bringing a dog, please indicate your vehicle situation in your sign up notes.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:We will be starting at the beginning of the trail off of Concession Road 3, about 1/2Km west of Brock Road, Pickering. I will provide more detailed driving directions to those who are signed up for the hike.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $25.80 (calculated at total Km * $0.258, effective Monday, April 29, 2024). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

Notes:
  • If we are short of drivers, they will get priority on the waiting list.
  • This hike will go ahead rain or shine. If it's raining, please wear appropriate rain gear.
