Itinerary:

The terrain is rocky and challenging, a bit of climbing is involved. Length is 18 km, pace is 4.5 km/h

This hike is suitable for strong intermediate and advanced hikers. It is not suitable for beginners. Hikers coming on this event are expected to have significant D4 level hiking experience. If you don't have a track record with the TOC, please, when registering, include some comments in the notes about your hiking background (otherwise you'll likely be removed.) To come on this event, you must be able to hike continuously at 4.5 km/h on Canadian Shield terrain, you must be able to keep up, because the trail is poorly blazed.

Situated between Parry Sound and Barrie on the east coast of Georgian Bay, the McCrae Lake Wilderness Area posses the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield. This is a challenging but rewarding hike. We'll pass by spectacular views of the lake from atop granite cliffs, windswept white pines, bedrocks, beaver dams and wetlands.

Members willing to drive will get first priority on the wait list.

Take the first right once on Georgian Bay Road onto the entrance to Highway 400 South. Turn into the first road on your left and go to the bottom to park.
