Itinerary:
I got inspired by my Chocolate hike this past weekend. Only 3 of us made it "to the end", and I walked back to my car for 23 km total, and another girl walked back home for over 27 km!

So, this is going to be the "serious" gelato hike. The other 2 have been mostly on residential streets, this one is going to be MOSTLY in the ravine trails! We're also going to tour the gorgeous Edwards Gardens before our Gelato stop.

This shop includes water-based Gelato (which I'm assuming is Vegan-Friendly, but I will check to make sure). Also, for those of you on my last Gelato hike… I assure you I did switch to km this time! No crazy surprises in distance!

Here's the plan:

  • Start: Victoria Park Subway Station*
  • Official end: Bayview and Eglinton (subway is a short bus ride away along Eglinton)
  • "My hopeful end": Victoria Park Subway Station**
  • Official Total distance: 16 km
  • "My Hopeful Total distance": 26-27 km***
  • Average speed: 5 - 5.5 km / hour
  • The weather, always subject to change, is looking good for Sunday, BUT the hike will go rain or shine
* Parking is free on the weekends
** I am not promising I will do the whole "hopeful" distance.
*** This extra ~10 km will add an extra ~2 hours onto the total hike time. I plan on walking as fast as I can during this time! (keeping in mind I'll be tired and not in the mood to jog!)
