Itinerary:
On International Trails Day back on June 4th, a courageous group of TOC members hit the trails at Cold Creek Conservation area! We dodged rain and thunder - but had to stay out of the meadows to avoid the lightening!! We all agreed this was a place worth re-visiting!!

Let's RE- discover the trails at Cold Creek Conservation Area together. "A portion of the property lies within the “Natural Linkage” policy area of the Oak Ridges Moraine." The trail goes through various forests, wetlands and a meadow. Over 100 birds have been identified at Cold Creek, including Great Blue Heron, American Kestrel, 3 kinds of owls, and Kingfisher. We didn’t get to see any birds on our first visit…I’m optimistic we’ll see lots of birds on this return visit! :D

The total hike for the day will be approx. 9 km. We'll be hiking at a moderate pace of around 3.5km to 4.0km. Please do not sign up for this hike unless you are comfortable walking at this pace.

BUG WARNING: There were a lot of Mosquitoes on our first visit and given the amount of water in the surrounding area I expect the same on our return visit. Long pants and a bug hat will ensure you have an enjoyable visit! If you wind up getting eaten alive don’t forget I told you so...
