Itinerary:

So I've wanted to go snow shoeing in the city for a while now, so I designed this route, which is easy and is only about 8 KM long.

So we will be following the Don Valley Mountain biking trail. We'll take the harder path north and come back on the easy path.

This is a good event for people who are just starting to snowshoe.

The trail head is in a parking lot at the corner of Bayview and Pottery road. See below for further details, if you coming by both car or transit

Following the event, anyone who wants to come for a drink or a bite to eat is welcome. We'll head up to the corner of Broadview/Pottery where there's the pub on the North-East corner.

Required Items to Bring:
  • Snowshoes
  • Snacks/lunch
  • Water
  • Snowshoes (if you don't own snowshoes you can rent them at Mountain Equipment Coop (MEC) for $15, for the day). MEC has a weekend special that if you pay after 3pm on Thursday, you can return the snowshoes on Monday and only pay for the weekend.
  • Proper boots clothing for cold weather
  • Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Regarding renting snowshoes, here's a link regarding rentals from MEC. http://images.mec.ca/media/Images/pdf/Rental_Rate_Card_Web_en_v1_m56577569831027259.pdf
