Itinerary:

This event will be a moderate paced 15-20 km hike of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area including sections of the main Bruce Trail (map 8 from the Bruce Trail mapbook). The Dundas Valley Conservation Area is part of the Niagara Escarpment which has been designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

There are also a number of waterfalls in the area that we'll check out. The forecast for Sunday is favourable. If we're especially fortunate, there might still be pockets of fall colours for all to enjoy.

We'll try and keep a comfortable pace of around 3.5 to 4.5 km an hour with plenty of chances for taking photos if desired. Lunch and snacks will be on the trail.

All dogs must be on leash and all dog waste must be packed out. Dog owners are responsible for their own rides.

  • Hiking boots or hiking shoes
  • Appropriate clothing and layers for cool and windy weather
  • Sunscreen
  • Lunch, snacks, about 1.5L of water
  • Change of shoes for after the hike
