Urban Hike - High Park, Waterfront Trail, Humber Bay River (10/30/2010)

Itinerary:

A fun and faster-paced late fall "night walk" through High Park, the Waterfront Trail, Humber Bay Park and up the Humber River Trail ending at Old Mill Subway Station.

  • Starting at the PARK ENTRANCE at High Park Avenue and Bloor St, we will walk through various trails and over varied terrain - grass, gravel, road - and go at a moderately brisk pace.
  • This walk is suitable for beginners and seasoned hikers alike - but please keep in mind that it will be darker, colder(by the lake) and take about 2.5 - 3 hours!

  • This a great opportunity for old and new members of TOC, especially those in the downtown core, to meet, chat, share ideas about TOC and outdoor adventure, exercise, socialize and get some adventure right here in the city.
  • Please bring a flashlight/headlight, jacket, gloves, waterproof rain gear, warm hat, snacks.
  • Optional coffee/cake social in Bloor West after.
  • Please note - START and ENDlocations of this walk is different. Start at High Park and END at Old Mill. Event goes ahead rain or shine!


  • Required Items to Bring:
    • Good hiking footwear
    • Flashlight/Headlight
    • Water, hot beverage, camera
    • Poncho/Rain Jacket
    Recommended Items to Bring:
    Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
    • fully clothed, costumed or nude - come as you feel fit or whichever you fell most appropriate for Halloween!

    How to Get There:
    Event Directions:Traveling by subway you get off at the High Park Subway station on the Bloor line. Go to High Park Avenue and turn right(south). Cross Bloor Street and enter park, we will be there around the Map.

  • Traveling by car going east bound on QEW get off at Lakeshore and turn north on Parkside Drive.
  • Traveling west on QEW/Gardiner get of at Dunn ave and Turn north on Parkside Drive.
  • Follow Parkside to Bloor and turn Left(west) to the next set of lights and turn left into the High Park.
  • There is some parking just inside the park, find a spot and walk back to entrance.
