Itinerary:

NOTE: This event has a 7:00 a.m. carpool departure. The carpool location is the Kipling Subway Station Kiss and Ride. The 7:00 a.m. departure time is firm. To do this ride in one day and so as to avoid getting stuck in trafffic in the morning, we have to get off to an early start.

We will drive from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake early on Saturday morning, and spend the day riding from there to Fort Erie and back, for a total of about 115 km. We will have lunch at a lovely cafe in Fort Erie. We will return to Toronto the same evening after having supper in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This is definitely a full-day event, so please do not plan anything else for the evening.

Evidence of fall should hopefully be present in the Niagara Region. The forecast is for a sunny day and a high of 16 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature may still be quite chilly, especially along the Niagara Parkway, so be sure to bring the right type of clothing. I would highly recommend good riding gloves and a neck-warmer as well as layered clothing.

Be sure that if you sign up for this event, you are able to cycle at an average speed of about 20-23 km/hr. Most of this ride will be on pavement. This event may not be suitable for you unless you have been out for at least a few 60-75 km rides this year. There will be short breaks for picture-taking here and there, but our focus will be on riding at a steady pace.

Do bring your cell-phone, to assist with communication during the ride.
