Itinerary:
We will meet at the Kipling Subway Station at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning and drive to Harrowsmith, which is north of Kingston. We will park our vehicles in the lot at the Harrowsmith entrance to the Cataraqui Rail Trail, which is part of the Trans Canada Trail, and ride our bikes in an easterly direction for about 40 km, to Chaffey's Lock, before reversing direction and returning to Harrowsmith. We will try to find some lunch at one of the communities along the trail, but you should bring some food and snacks with you, just in case a suitable lunch stop cannot be found.

I have done only part of the Cataraqui Trail previously, and it is a bit rougher than some of the other rail trials that we have ridden on. Therefore, be prepared for an adventure. The last time I did a ride on this trail, Tania nearly rode into the swamp at the side of the trail, and we saw some snakes!! I'd recommend hybrids, touring bikes or mountain bikes with slicks; road bikes will probably not be suitable for the trail.

After the ride, we will be stopping in Kingston for a good supper before heading back to Toronto. Do not plan any other events for Saturday evening, as this is a full-day event.

Required Items to Bring:
Well-maintained bike; bike helmet; sun block; water; food and snacks; front and rear bike lights; one extra tire tube and a basic tire repair kit, including levers; rain-gear; layered clothing that is adjustable to suit the temperature.
