Itinerary:
According to results of sophisticated scientific polling, 99.937% (*) of TOC members would love to sign up for backpacking events if they only knew how to get started. This session is your chance to learn the basics and see how much fun backpacking can be! We will go over the following:

  • Physical conditioning
  • Clothing and footwear
  • Shelter systems
  • Food and water
  • Navigation, wildlife, sanitation and other important little details

I will bring equipment to demo and time-permitting even to practice with.

This event will run in any weather. Dress accordingly.

By Transit: Take TTC to Finch subway. Then take TTC Bus 53 to Steeles & Leslie and walk about 0.5km north towards the park.

We will meet at the gravel parking area at the very end of Leslie St., just before it turns left into private property. We will then proceed to the park.
