Itinerary:
The Welland Canals Trails extends 42 km between St Catharines and Port Colborne alongside the Welland Canals (the existing and previous canals). We will meet at St. Catharines VIA/GO train station at 10:40 am (check the GO schedule for times from Union and/or other stations). If you are boarding the train on Union Station be there fairly early because this train service is very popular specially on long weekends.

We will ride from St Catharines train station to the Welland Canals trails, then head south to Port Colborne. We should be at Port Colborne around 2 pm for a late lunch. Depending on time, we might explore the area before heading back to St Catharines to catch the 19:45 train back to Toronto. I have not done this ride before but based on the maps, the total ride length is approximately 100km.

Total riding time should be about 6 hours plus the break for lunch. Therefore, when signing up for this event, be sure that you can handle this length of ride at an average speed of about 20-23 km/hr. This event may not be suitable for you unless you have been out for at least a few 70-80 km rides lately.
