Itinerary:

length: approx. 15 km
elevation: 296 m

This is a nice moderate hike that involves some hills, uneven terrain and probably some muddy areas. Please note that we will hike at a slowish pace so this will be great for those who want to take photos and get in better hiking condition - if you want a faster hike please do not sign up for this event!

We'll start at Rattlesnake Point Conservation area and follow the Nassagaweya Canyon Trail (7.2 km - about 2 to 2.5 hours) to Crawford Lake Conservation Area. We'll take a lunch break, and have a chance to see the reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian village at Crawford Lake. Then we'll hike back to our starting point.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water. We will stop for breaks to enjoy the countryside, but there will not be any drop offs.

If you cannot walk the entire distance, please do not sign up for this hike.

Fees: Due to the introduction of the HST, the park’s entrance fee has been raised to $6.25 per adult.

Note: The subway does not begin running on Sundays until 9 am, so please plan accordingly. For information on TTC routes, please check www.ttc.ca

We'll all meet at the park and ride area. When we decide whose vehicles will be taken, we'll drive over to the metropass lot (free on weekends) and leave any extra vehicles there.
