Itinerary:
The G20 Urban Hike

The downtown core is quickly becoming a surreal scene from some old Berlin-esque war movie. First the extra cameras went up, now most of "The Wall” is up, police presence is up, and all this leads to anxiety levels that are way up. And starting Monday, security measures are going to be ramped right up!

Want to take a look at what’s going on before the crazy summit weekend? We’ll be going on an undetermined km hike (but likely from 5-7 km). The route can’t be written in stone at this point, but we’re going to try to hike within and around the entire outer perimeter of the G20 security zone. The gates are not scheduled to be closed until Friday June 25, so if it is safe to do so, we'll be able to walk around within the inner zone, too. At this point, it seems cameras are allowed, so bring yours along. After the hike, we'll grab a beer and/or bite to eat at a nearby restaurant.

We'll be starting our hike near a subway stop south of Bloor. I will email the location to those signed up. We will most likely be finished closest to the Yonge / King subway station.
