Itinerary:
This is a great ride almost all off road. The only on road part of the route is from Burlington GO train station to Lakeshore Blvd (aprox. 2km). The route is fairly flat, so this is a good ride to start the season.

We will meet at Union Station at the GO ticket wickets in the lower level - near Bay Street, at 9:20 am about 20 minutes before the train leaves (train leaves at 9:43am). We will buy return tickets and use the elevator to get our bikes to the platform. Ideally, there should only be a maximum of 4 bikes to a carriage (per car train), two at each end. Bikes are places behind and in front of the 2 vertical steel poles, next to the seats as you walk in the door. Please allow passengers to get on board first. After a 60 minute train ride we will disembark at the Burlington GO station

If you would like, you can meet us at Burlington GO Station at 10:43 am

We will ride south to Lakeshore Blvd and then take the waterfront trail via Hamilton. This a great trail that goes besides the water. After riding 20km, we can stop at one of the parks to have either a snack or lunch. Then, we will then retrace our route back to the Burlington GO station. We should have enough time to catch the 3:10 train back to Union station but take into account that if missed that train the next one is at 4:10 pm. If we have time and the inclination we can have coffee or a bite to eat on Burlington/Toronto.

Be sure that if you sign up for this event, you are able to cycle a distance of at least 40 km in a day, at an average speed of about 15-20 km/hr. This event may not be suitable for you unless you have been out for at least a few 20-25 km rides this year.

In the notes section of the sign up, please indicate whether you will meet us at Union or Burlington GO Station.
