It is winter!!! It is time to hike over the ice and snow!!!! It is going to be fun, and after 5 minutes, you will not feel the cold anymore.
This is a great opportunity to practice/develop your night vision skills in a winter environment and explore one of the most beautiful ravines in Toronto
This will NOT be a slow walk. We will be faster than 4km per hour, however we will slow down on ice. There is no major difficulty in the terrain, just a couple of hills, but we will be hiking in a fast pace. Please notice that the trail conditions on this event are really less rough than any trail in the Wilderness. Do not assume that you are ready for the wilderness, especially my D4 events in the Bruce Trail that for sure will be more demanding. You are by your own, if you get separated from the rest of the group. Do not panic you still will be in the city: take the TTC,a cabs or call a friend. No search rescue team will be looking for you, no 911 call will be made and no helicopter will be looking for us. If you are really tired, feel free to drop-off at any point of the trail, just tell me, or if you do not see me, just leave a message in my voice mail. Breaks: You can take as many as you want, but no one will stop for you; you need to catch-up with the rest of the group. We will follow this path:
The trails could be covered on ice and snow, please watch out your step. Most of the trail will be on the darkness: bring your flash-light IMPORTANT: Please sign-un for this event ONLY if you are a WEATHER-Proof hiker. This event will run under the sun, the rain or the snow or below -26C. You must have a 100% commitment of assisting this event regardless of weather conditions. | |||||||
