Midweek Conditioning: High Park & Humber Bay Park (6/10/2009)

Itinerary:

Another conditioning session. This will be our itinerary:

  • Follow the Wendigo creek until Grenadier's Pond
  • Walk by Queensway until Ellis Avenue
  • Connect to the Waterfront Trail and follow it to the west
  • Cross over Humbers Pedestrian Bridge
  • Continue in the Waterfront until Humber Bay Park
  • Explore the West and East parts of the Park
  • Follow the Waterfront trail back until Colborne Lodge
  • Explore the inner trails of High Park
  • Arrive back to the starting point

    This will NOT be a slow walk. We will be faster than 5km per hour. Our slogan: "Fire comes out of our shoes!!!". The Pace will be set by the fastest person in the group, the others (including me) will try to catch him/her. If you get separated from the group, we are still in the city, no search rescue team will be looking for you.

    We are expecting to hike over some muddy trails. Altought days are getting longer, it is good idea to bring a flashlight for the final part.

    IMPORTANT: Please sign-un for this event ONLY if you are a WEATHER-Proof hiker. This event will run under the sun, the rain or the impossible snow in june. You must have a 100% commitment of assisting this event regardless of weather conditions.

    How to Get There:
    Event Directions:Traveling by subway you get of at the High Park Subway station on the Bloor line. Go to High park avenue and turn right(south). Cross Bloor and enter park I will be there around the Map.

    Traveling by car going east bound on QEW get off at Lakeshore and turn north on Parkside Drive. Traveling west on QEW/Gardiner get of at Dunn ave and Turn north on Parkside Drive. Follow Parkside to Bloor and turn Left(west) to the next set of lights and turn left into the High Park. There is some parking just inside the park find a spot and walk back to entrance.
