Itinerary:

The final south-east leg of the Iroquoia section of the Bruce Trail.

From the Mud St Access Trail in Hamilton, we'll head east to Oak St in Grimsby, a distance of about 27 km.

The hike shouldn't be too technically challenging at this time of year, but we'll keep it moving at a steady pace of around 4-5kph. As always with the Bruce, it could be muddy, so appropriate footwear is a must.

This will be a one-way hike involving car shuttles between the start and end points, so bring a light sweater or windbreaker to wear while waiting for the drivers to retrieve the cars at the end of the day. After the hike, we'll remove ourselves to The Judge And Jester in Grimsby, a few minutes from our hike end point, for a pint and a bite to eat.

This event is for intermediate to experienced hikers who are comfortable maintaining the stated pace for 6-7 hours. Please don't sign up if you are a beginner or a slower hiker - you will be removed without notice. Previous TOC or equivalent experience hiking at this difficulty level is a pre-requisite - no exceptions. If you do not have TOC experience, note your equivalent when you sign up and the coordinator will follow-up to confirm.

Notes:

Because of the need for enough cars to support the end-to-end shuttle, it may be necessary to replace a passenger already on the event list with a driver from the waiting list. In this case, the Last In-First Out model will be used.
