Itinerary:
2009 is the International Year of Astronomy! To kick off the year in style, the Ontario Science Centre is hosting a free day of Astronomy workshops, displays and demonstrations.
We'll meet in the front lobby at 10:45, purchase our tickets, and proceed together to the exhibitor's hall. From there we can look at the displays before the first event. The events that we'll be going to are*:
  • 11:30 - What's up in 2009
  • 13:00 - World's Beyond: The Diversity of Extra-Solar Planets
  • 14:00 - Bringing Stars to the City Sky
  • 15:00 - Using a DSLR for Astrophotos
* subject to change

In between presentations, we're free to browse the various displays such as: solar observing, Ask an Astronomer, 3-D Astronomy, and Images from the Canadian Astronomical Image Database.
Note: you can leave this event early if you wish. For those of you who stay, we'll go have a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant (tbd) afterwards.
