Itinerary:
We will meet an Union Station at the GO ticket wickets in the lower level, at 10:25, 20 mins before the train leaves to get tickets and use the lift to get our bikes to the platform. Ideally, there should only be a maximum of 2 bikes to a carriage, one at each end but I reckon we could get 4 in at a pinch. Bikes are places behind the 2 vertical steel poles, next to the seats as you walk in the door. Please allow passengers to get on board first.

The train take nearly 30 mins to get to Oakville. I recommend having some drinks and some snacks before you leave as after Oakville there are few shops between there and Port Credit, although you may meet an ice cream vendor in a park :-)

We will be taking the Lakeshore Trail all the way to Union station, stopping at Port Credit for lunch. The trail consists of quiet back roads, road with bike lanes and bike paths mostly, but there is a 20 min stretch in Mimico where we have to ride on Lakeshore road and 5-10 mins as we get close to Union station. Near the beginning you be required to carry your bikes up some steps to a road. The trail can undulate a bit so those without low gears may have to walk for some small bits.

N.B. I personally love this trail and I cycle it frequently (I live in Port Credit). It is extremely pleasant to ride near the lake, especially with a light breeze to cool you down.

If you come you must: 1. wear a bicycle helmet 2. be comfortable riding with automobiles 3. bring a spare tube Your bicycle must: 4. fit you well 5. be mechanically sound.

Participants must stay with group: preferably, but if there are problems, then people can catch a train from Port Credit (1/2 way)
