Itinerary:

WHY THIS ROUTE?

I would like to see how far east we can walk from Guild Park along the beach. We used to be able to walk all the way to Highland Creek, but last fall on a hike going west from Highland Creek we came upon a short 50m section where the beach had eroded away. We had a choice of walking through hip deep water, turning around, or going on a trail up the bluffs to East Point Park, then along roads to Guild Park

We took the trail up the bluffs to East Point Park

Sometime soon I would like to do a hike from Rouge Hill GO to Guildwood GO along the beach, so I will use this opportunity to see if the section of missing beach has returned

DISTANCE: about 11 to 13 km

PACE: 4.5 km/h

DIFFICULTY: D3

WASHROOM BREAK: at the GO station before and after the hike +Guild park at 3 km

we will start and end at Guildwood GO station
we'll hike along a mix of paved, gravel, dirt paths, wooden boardwalk, and sandy / rocky beach
