Itinerary:

So, I really enjoy walking at the Toronto Islands as its so beautiful down there.
So, why don't we try a slightly longer fall version.

This 16 KM hike will both start and finish at Wards Island Ferry Dock.

The hike will be on a combination of paved roads, single track dirt trails, sandy beaches and grassy fields

In terms of hills, there aren't any - its very flat.

I'll attempt to stop for a washroom break at a washroom located at the 4 KM mark of the hike and the 10 KM mark of the hike.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FERRY SCHEDULE HAS NOT YET BEEN ANNOUNCED FOR THE FALL, SO I MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE THE START TIME ONCE IT COMES OUT.

    Event Directions:

Wards Island is located on the Toronto Islands.

We'll meet beside the gazebo at the Ferry dock (see picture below) - (Look for me in the BLUE Toronto Outdoor Club shirt)

To get to the islands, you have a couple options.
Take the Wards Island Ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, located @ 9 Queens Quay West or south of the corner of Bay & Queens Quay.
Also Queens Quay Streetcar Station is located there.

I encourage you buy your tickets 'online in advance' to avoid disappointment of not potentially being able to purchase them the day of the hike.

You can also take one of the Island Taxis
