So, the I haven't done the torture hill in Earl Bales park for a few years.

Someone's called it that on one of my hikes in 2011 and I've been calling it that ever since.
Personally, I don't think its that bad, but you can be the judge.
A good time of the year is to do it in the summer, so let's have a go.

This 13 KM hike will both start and finish at North York Centre Station.

The hike will be on a combination of sidewalks, paved cemetery roads, single track dirt trails (including the torture hill) and paved multi use trails

In terms of hills, there should be 1 climb of 25 meters and the torture hill is 50 meters.

I'll attempt to stop for a washroom break in the Hinder Property about 3 KM into the hike.

Post hike, I may go for a scoop of ice cream at Mable Slab, if anyone would like to join.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

We'll meet outside the Starbucks at North York Centre Subway Station.
North York Centre station is located on line 1, one stop south of Finch Station and 1 stop north of Sheppard-Yonge Station.
The Starbucks is located on the west of Yonge St and on the north side of Mel Lastman Square and across the street from Empress Walk Mall.

For those driving:
Address for the Starbucks is 5140 Yonge St.
There is street parking in the area, west of Beecroft Rd
Or, there's a pay parking lot on the North- East corner at Empress/Park Home and Yonge Street, which is three traffic lights north of Sheppard Ave.
Then it's just a short walk to the Starbucks, which is located south of Empress/Park Home on the west side.
