Corbett’s Dam Fish Migration hike (9/1/2025)

We are going to see the spectacular fish migration along the Ganaraska River, and at the fish ladder of Corbett’s Dam this Labour Day Weekend!

The Dam was opened in 1974 where thousands of Coho and Chinook make their way to their home spawning grounds each year. This place attracts many visitors who come to watch the fish swimming upstream. We hike on the trails along the Ganaraska River (approximately 5km) and stop by the fish ladder at the Dam, which is a great spot for seeing the fish in action. There is an underwater monitoring system that lets you watch the fish, and they also record the number of fish that pass through.

Please note that we will not have any carpool arrangements. We will meet in town just in front of Trattoria Gusto (GPS: 43.951163325607844, -78.29197631894236). Parking is free on the weekend and statutory holiday.
