What is a Slowpoke hike? It's not exactly a hike for beginners, although beginners are welcome. We take a relatively moderate hike and slow.it.down. It's for those of us that like to chat, view the scenery, take pictures and just smell the flowers. Maybe you haven't been hiking in a while and you don't know what level you are at. Or you have never hiked before. Or you are recovering from a recent injury. Or you just want a break. There is no race to finish, we'll finish when we feel like it. There will not be a fast group, so if you like to rush ahead, this is not for you. Our hiking pace will be around 2.5 to 3 KM/Hr

This hike is a new hike for the organizer so expect to get lost, but it does look interesting: A hike from Borer’s Falls down to the Bruce Trail headquarters at Raspberry House and into the Royal Botannical Gardens. We follow Captain Cootes Trail along the waterfront past some tower lookouts to the Marsh Walk and then back along Bull’s Point trail to Borer’s Falls. (source: www.torontohiking.com)

The terrain has some small hills, but does not appear to be challenging. Hopefully we'll get some nice scenery, so bring your cameras.

Although this is a slowpoke hike, proper equipment is required. Minimum hiking shoes and/or boots, a daypack with at least 1.5 litres of water and lunch/snacks, and weather appropriate clothing. Failure to bring the minimum could result in being left behind! Please contact me directly if you have any questions.

Due to the high demand of this event, the number of those members who chose "meet at event" will be kept to 5 (or Less!). If you are on the waiting list and you'd like to be considered for this event, I suggest that you reconsider your carpool choice and meet at the carpool.
