THE CARPOOL LEAVES SHEPPARD WEST STATION AT 8:30 AM

So, this is my first time exploring the crevice caves of Splitrock Narrows along the Bruce Trail.
Its on the longer end of a D3 hike, but there a lot of relaxing road to take a break from the trail.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water.
We'll stop for lunch somewhere around the Narrows.

If you cannot walk the entire distance please do not sign up for this hike.

  • Terrain: Single track dirt trails, muddy fields and some rocky sections
  • Trail vs Road: 10.5 km vs 5 km

  • Challenging Climbs of Note: 4 climbs of at least 25 meters, with one climb over 50 meters
  • Largest Climb: 50 meters
  • Washrooms: None, sorry
  • Highlights: 'crevice caves'

Those willing to drive, will get first priority on the wait list, should they be needed.
DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!!!

For those of you choosing to meet at the event location, instead of the carpool, please ensure that you come on time

I’ve set the maximum event count at 1 as I don’t want to add anyone to the event until I have enough carpool drivers to accommodate passengers.
I will try accommodate up to 25 people.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A CLOSURE ON LINE 1 BETWEEN FINCH AND ST CLAIR STATION THIS WEEKEND

  • $12.00 to $25.00 cash for passengers to cover the cost of the carpool

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

    The closest approximate address 487072 30 Side Rd, Mono - 44°05'08.8"N 80°06'43.1"W - parking is just west of this location.

    Please note that my event directions are from Sheppard West Station

    • Leaving Sheppard West - take the Allen Road south to the 401.
    • Travel west along Highway 401 to Highway 410 (15 KM)
    • Merge with Highway 410 and follow it North for approx. 68 km (NOTE: HWY 410 will eventually turn into HWY 10)
    • Turn right (EAST) onto 30 Side Rd for 2 KM.
    • Side road parking will be on your right
      NOTE: If you drive to 1st Line EHS, then you've driven about 500 meters too far.

      POTENTIAL WASHROOM STOP Address: 18372 Hurontario St (Hwy 10)
      The closest washroom is a Tim Hortons in Caledon Village.
      To access turn left at the traffic light at Charleston Sideroad (RR 24) and immidately turn left into the Tim Hortons parking lot.
