Night Hike: Downsview, Glenfield to YU Heights (10 KM) (6/6/2023)

Itinerary:

So, there is a trail in Downsview Dells park that I've been wanting to check out for a long time.
Tonight will be my opportunity.
If it works out great, if it doesn't, well I won't do it again.

This 10 KM hike will travel between Downsview Park Station & Finch West Station

The hike will be on a combination of paved park paths, single track dirt trails, gravel trails and grassy fields.

In terms of hills, there should be 2 climbs of about 50 meters.

There should be potentially 2 washrooms available:
- 3.5 KM into the hike in Downsview Dells Park
- 6.5 KM into the hike @ the Northwood Community Centre

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A CLOSURE ON LINE 2 BETWEEN BROADVIEW & WOODBINE STATION AT 11 PM TONIGHT

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

Downsview Park Station is located on Line 1, 1 stop north of Sheppard West Station and 1 stop south of Finch West Station.

We'll meet at the west exit or the Vitti Street exit. Basically the opposite side of where the GO Station is, closer to the passenger pick up area.

If your exiting from the subway, once you've exited the presto gates, just turn right and go up the stairs to the Vitti Street Exit
WARNING: The signage in the station is pretty awful.

For those of you driving, the address for Downsview Park Station is 25 Vitti Street.
In terms of parking, you should be able to park at the Downsview Park Merchants Market for free.
To access the lot, enter the parking lot from Sheppard, one traffic light west of Vitti Street.
